Did you know you can use Gmail offline on your PC if you want to? If you don’t have an Internet connection, you can use Google’s free email service even if your Internet connection is slow or even nonexistent. It can also be helpful if you’re heading somewhere a bit farther away from your home.

You need to keep two essential things in mind: enabling the offline Gmail feature first, and you can only use this feature on Google Chrome browsers. You can turn on the offline Gmail mode for your account in just a few steps.

Here Is How You Can Enable Gmail’s Offline Mode on Your Computer

You should first add Gmail (https://mail.google.com) to your bookmarks in Chrome and visit it from there.

Clicking on the Settings button in the upper-right corner of the page will take you to a page where you can see all the settings available.

Click the Offline option.

You will need to tick the Enable Offline Mail option, choose your preferred mail settings, and click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.

If you enable offline mode, you can choose how many days’ worth of messages, with or without attachments, will be saved for offline use in the offline mode.

Besides keeping your offline Gmail data on your computer even when you sign out of your Gmail account or change your password, you can also choose to keep your offline Gmail data on your computer.

The data associated with your Gmail account will not be deleted until you turn off the offline mode.

Alternatively, after you sign out of your Google account, you have the option to choose whether or not you wish to remove your offline data from your computer.

When you log back into Gmail while the offline mode is still enabled, Gmail will need to resync your offline data again. The more data it needs to resync, the slower Gmail may be able to perform.

Here Is How You Can Turn Off the Offline Mode on Gmail

First, you must remove all offline data that you have stored in Google Chrome.

Let’s begin by launching Google Chrome on your computer.

The second step involves clicking the three dots menu on the top right of the screen and then clicking the settings button.

Click the See All Cookies and Site Data link at the top of the page.

Click on the Remove All button.

The last step is to turn off the offline mode in Gmail. Follow the steps outlined in the previous section, but untick the Enable Offline Mail checkbox instead of ticking it.
