If you’re a frequent GCash user, finding a method to load funds without the usual PHP5 convenience fee can be a game-changer. We put this to the test on October 2, precisely when GCash began imposing fees for linked account cash-ins, and it indeed worked.
This method applies to single transactions of PHP1,000 and below, allowing you to enjoy free cash-ins. It’s a money-saving approach for your GCash top-ups.
Access your BPI account. We’re using the new app.
Select the account to transfer funds from.
Select “Another bank” under “Transfer to”.
On the “Transfer to another bank” tab, click “Transfer to” and choose “G-Xchange/GCash”. You may also type it.
Fill up the GCash account number and name, or the 11-digit mobile number starting with 09*********.
Enter the GCash account transfer amount. Select “Continue”.
Check the details. The charge is PHP0.00 there. Double-check the details and click “Confirm.”
After the transfer is successful, you’ll receive text messages confirming the cash-in.
Now that’s a free GCash Cash-In! Learn more guides here at Manila Shaker.
