BPI said that using InstaPay to send up to php1,000 will be free from July 5 to September 30, 2023. This is true for payments to businesses and bills, as well as transfers to other banks and e-wallet services.
Even though the change was only brief, it was made a few months after the Banko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) made a plan to make more people in the country have access to money.
Felipe Medalla, who used to be governor of the BSP, came up with the idea at a meeting of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Along with the new statement, BPI is also encouraging people to download and use its new mobile app for more convenient transactions.
