Change your username to something more memorable to make it simpler for people to locate your Facebook page. Facebook’s mobile app does not enable you to update this, therefore we will demonstrate how to do it there.
If you’re not aware, your username is the text that displays after the URL for Facebook.com and directs users to your profile. Your Facebook profile URL, for instance, might be: msjohnedmar if your username is that.

Facebookâs Username Requirements
When choosing a username, make sure it conforms to Facebook’s standards. These are the official rules:
- You cannot use a username that is already being used by someone else.
- You can only use alphabets, digits, and periods in your username. The.com extension is not supported.
- Your username must include at least 5 characters.
- You shouldn’t use a username that impersonates another user.
If your new username follows the aforementioned standards, the method for changing your current username is explained below.
After logging in, click your profile symbol in the top-right area of Facebook.
Select Settings & Privacy > Settings from the menu that appears.
Select “Username” under “General Profile Settings” in the right pane.
Enter the new username you want to use in the “Username” column. Click “Save Changes” after that.
That’s all, then. You’ve successfully changed your Facebook profile’s URL. Using the new username link, you will now route users to your page on this social media network. Enjoy!
