Google has reportedly changed its free cloud storage policy for new accounts.
Previously, new Google accounts automatically received 15GB of free storage shared across Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos.

However, some users now report only getting 5GB unless they add and verify a phone number during account setup.
According to reports, Google shows a notice saying users can unlock the full 15GB of storage at no cost by linking a phone number. Without verification, the account remains limited to 5GB.
