Acer continues to expand its eco-minded array of devices with the new Aspire Vero laptops, the Aspire Vero AV14-51 and the Aspire Vero AV15-52. The laptops use a percentage of PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic, OBP (Ocean-bound Plastic), and recyclable packaging. In addition, these devices have a longer lifespan due to their being easy to disassemble for the process of repairs or upgrades.
Let’s start with the Acer Aspire Vero AV14-51. It sports a 14-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) display and is powered by the 12th Gen Intel Evo Core processor paired with an Intel Iris Xe graphics.
The new Aspire Vero laptop also comes with up to 16GB DDR4 RAM and up to 1TB of M.2 PCIe SSD, at the helm. I/O ports are Thunderbolt 4/USB Type-C, and two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A ports Other features include a fingerprint reader for added security, and Wi-Fi 6E. It is available in Cobblestone Grey and Mariana Blue colors.
There’s also the Acer Aspire Vero AV15-52, which flaunts a bigger 15-inch FHD (1920×1080) panel and is also powered by the latest 12th Gen Intel Evo Core processors.
The Vero AV15-52 comes with up to 24GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB for storage, and Wi-Fi 6E. Colorways available are Cobblestone Grey and Starry Black.
Both laptops, according to Acer, feature OceanGlass trackpads, which are made from ocean-bound plastic. Like prior models, both new Aspire Vero’s chassis utilizes 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, which is durable and rigid and saves 21% in carbon emissions for the production of the chassis. The laptop’s screen bezel uses 30% PCR plastic and the keycaps use 50% PCR plastic, further reducing the computer’s footprint, while no paint is used on the chassis.
Pricing and Availability
Both the new Acer Aspire Vero laptops are priced starting at USD 749.99 (~PHP 39,181) in the US this September 2022. They will retail starting at EUR 899 (AV14-51) and EUR 999 (AV15-52) in EMEA this August 2022, while at RMB 4,999 in China also this August 2022.
However, there’s no word yet for local availability, so stay tuned.
