It has been three years since its release but it definitely had a good run. It was announced by Apple that it would discontinue the HomePod after a three-year run.
This was reported by TechCrunch which also said that Apple wants to shift its attention to the newly launched HomePod mini. The original HomePod will still continue to be on sale until stocks would run out and from that on, the company would no longer manufacture the smart speaker. Also, there will be constant software updates and support for existing units.
This would mark the second major product that Apple has discontinued within the month. It was revealed earlier this month that the company would discontinue the iMac Pro. We can expect that within the year, Apple will be sharing its new line HomePod series that would be a far improvement from the original.
