Xiaomi took the chance of announcing nearly everything it has in its arsenal during the announcement of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro for the global market. Aside from a 4K TV, the company also released the Mi True Wireless Earphones 2(hereafter “Mi TWE 2”), aka as Mi AirDots Pro 2. The new TWS has a price of €79.99(~P4,500) and should start selling in Europe “soon”. If you’re expecting a wide color variety like the Galaxy Buds+, unfortunately, Mi TWE 2 comes in a white model only.
Like the AirPods Pro, the Mi TWE 2 connects automatically upon opening the case. However, this feature is said to be “optimized” for MIUI-based phones only. Music playback lasts up to 4 hours of the earbuds, while the cases can provide an additional 14 hours of usage. Charging-wise, the case requires an hour only to go from zero to full. Speaking of the case, it has a rounded square design that looks edgy versus the competition. As for the buds themselves, the plastic-clad build features 14.2mm drivers and dual-microphones for ambient noise cancellation. Furthermore, the mics support smart voice controls, while the speakers can output LDHC Hi-Res audio codec over Bluetooth 5.0 connection. Lastly are the touch controls and intelligent wear detection that pauses music when the earbuds are taken off.
