vivo debuted its first foldable phone, the X Fold, this year. The year hasn’t yet ended, and the Blue Factory has already renewed it with the release of a new variant: the vivo X Fold+. The Plus edition outperforms the previous gadget due to the existence of a quicker CPU, a larger battery, and faster-charging technologies to fill it. Is it, however, better than the other companies’ most recent foldable phones? As always, we believe that comparing the item to its greatest competitors is the best way to comprehend it. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 is one of two gadgets that can compete with this handset more than any other. This is a comparison of the major specifications of the Vivo X Fold+ and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, to help you decide which one is better.

The form factors of the Vivo X Fold Plus and the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 are similar: they are foldable phones that can turn into tablets due to the presence of a large folding panel in the inside component (the one hidden while they are folded). When it comes to looks, I like the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 since it has a less intrusive camera module and is also a slimmer gadget. The dimensions of these devices are similar, but the Xiaomi is noticeably slimmer and lighter, owing to the existence of a smaller battery. When unfolded, it is just 5.4 mm thick, and when folded, it is only 11.2 mm thick. It weighs only 262 grams as opposed to more than 300 grams.
In terms of specs, the screens on these two phones are extremely similar. They each have two displays: an inside screen that can change them into tablets and an exterior one that looks like a phone. The Vivo X Fold Plus’s internal display is an AMOLED screen with a diagonal of 8.03 inches, LTPO technology providing an adaptable refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz, a 2K+ resolution of 1916 x 2160 pixels, and HDR10+ certification. The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has similar characteristics, but it includes Dolby Vision compatibility and can display up to one billion colors, making it somewhat superior. Even Xiaomi’s exterior panel is superior: it has a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, HDR10+ certification, and Dolby Vision. The Vivo sports a 6.53-inch exterior display with AMOLED technology, Full HD+ resolution, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The Vivo X Fold Plus is the clear victor in our comparison when it comes to camera configuration. It sports a quad rear camera with Zeiss optics that includes a 50MP primary sensor with OIS and laser autofocus, an 8MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and OIS, a 12MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and a 48MP ultrawide sensor. Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 lacks a periscope camera, instead opting for a lower-quality 8MP sensor with 2x optical zoom. The main sensor remains a 50MP camera with OIS, however, the ultrawide camera is a 13MP lens.
These two foldable phones use the same CPU, which is presently Qualcomm’s greatest mobile platform. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is constructed on a 4 nm manufacturing process and features an octa-core architecture comprised of a Cortex X2 CPU operating at 3.19GHz, three Cortex A710 CPUs running at 2.75GHz, four Cortex A710 CPUs running at 2GHz, and an Adreno 730 GPU. The SoC in both phones is paired with 12GB of RAM, however, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 has more internal storage: up to 1TB. The handsets come pre-installed with Android 12 with heavily modified user interfaces.
The Vivo X Fold Plus has a larger battery with a capacity of 4730 mAh. Given that the phone shares many components with the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2, it should have longer battery life in a variety of circumstances. Unless you get the Mix Fold 2, it even has wireless charging as well as quicker cable charging technologies.
The Vivo X Fold Plus costs at least €1450/$1450 (around Php85,341), while the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 costs around €1300/$1300 (roughly Php76,513) at the time of writing. They can only be found in China. The Vivo X Fold+ wins the comparison due to a superior camera and a larger battery with improved charging technology.
