Starting things off is Sony’s 2015 mid-ranger, the C5 Ultra. We’ve shared a fair amount of time with the said handset and can honestly say that the C5 Ultra is truly a performer amongst all. The latter carries a 13MP duo camera pairing and runs on a MediaTek 6752 chip. It is a capable phablet, with a very reasonable price tag. Currently, the Xperia C5 Ultra lands itself at around Php 17-18K.

Next in the list is a newer handset, none other than the newest member of the A-series family, the Samsung Galaxy A9. The A9 has a pretty decent lineup of specs, thanks to being a newer smartphone, it helps that the Galaxy A9 is set for a Marshmallow update sometime this year. It runs on a Snapdragon 652 chip and carries 3GB of RAM with 32GB of ROM, dealing things in the memory department. Adding to the mix is its 4000mAh battery capacity. Currently, you can buy the Galaxy A9 at around Php 21-22K through online stores and grey markets nationwide.

The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus has been part of our list before under the 4000mAh battery capacity smartphones and up a list. The massive 6-incher M5 Plus resounds itself from others, thanks to its 5020mAh battery capacity, a truly massive feat that few could even match. The Marathon M5 Plus still packs a decent amount of firepower that might hype a few people up. The Gionee Marathon M5 Plus is priced on Amazon at $390 or roughly around Php 18K.

I’m sure you’ve head of Huawei’s prestigious flagship, the Mate 8. It packs a pretty premium design while being backed up by some powerful lineup of specs. It packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM while supporting microSD card storage. It also has Android 6.0 Marshmallow running on the side, so that alone should get your fix. However, the Huawei Mate 8 is a bit hefty, pricing itself at around Php 32,990 on online stores nationwide.

Considered to be one of Motorola’s last hoorah before the Lenovo deal, the Nexus 6 also showed a very promising performance, back when we were having our time with the handset. It had 3GB of RAM, which was already decent back then and carried options in memory of 32 or 64GB. One flaw, however, was that it lacks microSD card support, which was a bit of a letdown on our part back then. However, performance-wise, the Motorolla Nexus 6 is quite a performer, delivering a pretty decent amount camera, hardware and software performance with ease. Currently, the Motorola Nexus 6 is still being offered by online stores at around Php 22-31K.

The Mi Max is a yet-to-be-unveiled phablet from Xiaomi, however, we feel that it needs its place here on the list, thanks to its pretty massive 6.4-inch 1080p FHD display. The Mi Max doesn’t yet have a complete line of specs, though nevertheless, the leaked information looks promising and it could likely be one of the best phablets of 2016, to say the least. Expected estimated price of the Mi Max is assumed to be around Php 20-27K, though every information is yet-to-be-confirmed.
