Xiaomi has a big surprise coming out this year, and it’s the biggest tablet they’ve made so far: the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4. Although it is not that far from last year’s version of the Xiaomi Pad 5, when it comes to the size of the screen display, it is the most important thing, especially for people nowadays. In search of a device that is worth it and has good quality, we made a spec sheet as a comparison with the Pad 5. Which of the two is good to use as an individual and has good specs? We will find out in this specs comparison.

DESIGN

Even though these two are from the same series, they have different designs because of their different camera modules. This Pad 5 has the same camera module as the Mi 11, and the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 has the similarities to Xiaomi 12. Plus, they have a very high screen-to-body ratio with display protection of 80 percent higher in the front glass. Since the Xiaomi Pad Pro 12.4 has a larger size display, it is larger than the Pad 5, so this is way cozier to use but not so easy to carry.

DISPLAY

Despite having the same resolution, they also give the same details of the display. As you can see on the spec sheet, it just had a change in the size and the screen protection of the two mentioned devices. The Pad 5 Pro 12.4 can give you a better vision when it comes to displaying quality compared to Pad 5. Although they have the same resolution, the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 has a 12.4-inch display. And also, the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 can give you more protection on your screen thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

SPECS AND PERFORMANCE

Here, we will give you a comparison when it comes to the chipset and operating system. The Pad 5 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 860 coupled with an Andreno 640 GPU while on other hand, while the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 has a Qualcomm SM8250-AC Snapdragon 870 paired with an Andreno 650 GPU. The Android version of the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is newer than the Pad 5. The Android version of the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is newer than the Pad 5 and with different UI version, MIUI Pad 13 on Pad 5 Pro 12.4 while MIUI 12.5 on Pad 5. The Pad 5 Pro 12.4 carries higher RAM and storage, it comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal when you buy its highest variant, while the Pad 5 can carry 6GB RAM and 256GB internal storage in its highest variant. This only shows that Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 can provide better performance and Pad 5.

CAMERA

There is a big difference between the two when it comes to the camera. It’s a pretty good improvement compared to the Pad 5. It boasts a 50MP Main camera and it has placed a supporting camera of 2MP for the depth sensor that can capture video with a maximum resolution of 4K with 30fps and 1080p with 60fps. While its front camera has a 20MP selfie camera with a video resolution of 1080p with 60fps. It cannot be denied that its camera specs have been greatly improved over last year’s Pad 5.

BATTERY

And since the Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is a large tablet, it also has a large battery. It is backed up by a 10000mAh Battery with 67W of fast charging with an estimated time of 70 minutes to fully juice up the device. Whereas the vanilla version has a relatively small 8720mAh battery with 33W of fast charging, it still carries a decent battery life and charging speed which is still good after all.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 is still available on market with the minimum price of PHP17,990 they offer 2 color variants in the market which is Cosmic Gray, and Pearl White while the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 is still waiting to release but it is expected to cost more than PHP23,100 with 3 colors Black, Silver, Green but there are no confirmed details yet on what color will be available here in the Philippines.
