Xiaomi Mi 7 might not be unveiled at MWC 2018

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi confirmed their attendance as exhibitors at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018, so everyone expected that Xiaomi will be launching its new flagship at the event. But according to some new rumors, it might not happen.

According to Gizmochina. a high-ranking company employee who has decided to stay anonymous has declared that no major announcements will be made at MWC 2018. It also means that neither Xiaomi Mi Max 2S  and Mi 7 will be launched during the tech event.

As mentioned before, the Xiaomi Mi 7 will carry support for Qi wireless charging standard. Xiaomi also revealed that it will be tapping Integrated Device Technology for the wireless charging module. Aside from the module from IDT, the company will also be using its RF products. This means the Mi 7 would be completely compatible with wireless bands of the U.S.

The Mi 7 is rumored to feature a 5.65-inch 18:9 display while the Mi 7 Plus is reported to have a 6.01-inch 18:9 screen. These phones are also rumored to pack 3,200mAh and 3,500mAh batteries respectively. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is rumored to have a price tag of 2,699 Yuan, or roughly $400 USD. Recent rumors also suggest that Xiaomi may launch Mi 7 and Mi 7 Plus respectively.

Xiaomi welcomed 2018 by confirming to its official WeChat channel that the upcoming Mi 7 flagship smartphone will sport wireless charging and that it will also be powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset.
