Huawei is expected to launch the successor to the MediaPad M3 which was released in 2016. The upgraded tablet will be called the MediaPad M5 and it has now received certification from the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC), which means that Huawei intends to launch the device in the U.S.
The FCC listing shows that the model would be fuelled by a 4,980mAh battery and that it would have a metal body. It also revealed the presence of hidden U-shaped antenna band, SIM slot on the right side when viewed from the rear aspect while the volume rocker and power buttons are on the right side.
The MediaPad M5 will feature an 8.4-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels just like its predecessor. It will also feature a fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, stereo speakers, and Cat. 4 LTE modem.
However, there’s still no information when the MediaPad M5 will be released. Some expected it to be released during the MWC 2018.
