Design

Both the Vivo X80 Pro and the Xiaomi 12S Ultra are sizable smartphones with sizable camera setups. The Vivo X80 Pro has a glass back and is available in black, blue, and orange colors, whilst the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has an eco-friendly leather option in green and black.

Be aware that although the Vivo model has Schott Xensation Up protective glass on the back, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, much like its predecessors. However, in our experience, both do a respectable job of preventing scratches on your phone.

Both phones have huge camera modules, as was already reported. The Vivo model has a rectangular camera housing, similar to what we’ve seen on prior Vivo flagships, while the Xiaomi model has a circular camera housing.

Both phones include stereo speakers, however, neither has a MicroSD card reader or a 3.5mm headphone port.

Display

The screens on both phones are capable of flagship-level displays.

A 6.73-inch AMOLED display with Quad HD+ resolution (1440 x 3200p), 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, HDR10+ certification, and Dolby Vision is included in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Gorilla Glass Victus from Corning shields the screen.

The 6.78-inch AMOLED screen on the Vivo X80 Pro, in contrast, has a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and a maximum brightness of 1500 nits. The Vivo model has a Schott Xensation Up protective glass, in contrast to previous variants that use Corning glass.

Specs & Software

The newest Snapdragon 8+ gen 1 CPU, which powers the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, improves performance and economy noticeably. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, on the other hand, is found in the Vivo X80 Pro and was revealed a few months ago. This puts the Xiaomi model ahead of the Vivo flagship in terms of performance.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra has 512GB of storage and up to 12GB of RAM. The memory configuration matches that of the Vivo model. Both of them make use of UFS 3.1.

The Vivo X80 Pro comes with FunTouchOS 12, based on Android 12, while the Xiaomi 12S Ultra runs on MIUI 13, based on Android 13.

Camera

These two models have powerful cameras since they are the premium flagships of their respective manufacturers. For the 12S Ultra, Xiaomi has teamed with Leica, while Vivo has a camera system with a partnership with Zeiss.

A 50.3MP primary camera with OIS and an f/1.9 aperture is included in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. A 48MP periscope 5x zoom camera, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 3D ToF sensor for depth are combined with this. It has an impressive 32MP camera up front.

The Vivo X80 Pro, on the other hand, has a 48MP 114 ultra-wide camera, a 50MP main camera, an 8MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom, another 12MP telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom, and another 12MP camera. The 32MP selfie camera on the Vivo X80 Pro is similar to that on the 12S Ultra.

The Xiaomi 12S Ultra cameras this time around are rather good, as we’ve witnessed. It will ultimately come down to personal opinion as to which one you think has the finest camera, but the Vivo X80 Pro isn’t a slouch either.

Battery

A large 5000mAh battery and quick 67W wired and 50W wireless charging are included with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. The 4700mAh battery of the Vivo X80 Pro offers even quicker charging at 80W. The Xiaomi model and the Vivo flagship both offer 50W wireless charging. Both phones include wireless charging that works in reverse.
