Xbox to Launch Next Call of Duty on Game Pass

The next Call of Duty game is going to be available on Xbox Game Pass, according to The Wall Street Journal. This is a big deal because Call of Duty games have always been sold separately at full price. But now, along with being on Game Pass, you can still buy it separately if you want.

Microsoft is trying to bring more games from Activision Blizzard, the company behind Call of Duty, to Game Pass. They have a deal with Sony to put the game on PlayStation too, but Game Pass is only on Xbox.

There are some debates inside Xbox about this decision. Some people think putting Call of Duty on Game Pass will get more people to subscribe, but others worry it might hurt sales because lots of people buy Call of Duty games every year.

There might also be a change in the price because of this. Microsoft is thinking about raising the price to make it fair with all the new big games they’re adding.

When will Call of Duty be on Game Pass?

The new Call of Duty game is rumored to be called Black Ops 6 and might be set during the 1990s Gulf War according to The Verge. We should hear more about it on June 9, 2024 at Xbox’s big showcase event.

Apart from Call of Duty, Xbox will also talk about other cool games at the showcase, like the next Gears of War and release dates for games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Avowed, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Overall, if Call of Duty comes to Game Pass, it shows that Microsoft wants gaming to be more accessible for everyone who plays on Xbox. What are your thoughts on the possibility of the next Call of Duty game being available on Xbox right from its release?
