TikTok is trying something new for its users! Longer videos! They’re testing out a feature that lets you upload a TikTok 60-minute video long.
Social media consultant and founder of the Geekout Newsletter, Matt Navarra, also shared a screencap on Threads about TikTok’s update regarding the 60-minute video on TikTok.
According to reports from TechCrunch, TikTok has confirmed this exciting update. But wait, there’s a catch. This feature isn’t available to everyone just yet. Only few in specific locations are getting to test it out for now. TikTok hasn’t revealed when it’ll be widely available, though.
So, what’s the fuss about this TikTok 60-Minute video? Well, think about it, more space for creativity! TikTok has been gradually increasing its video lengths over time. It started with short 15-second clips, then moved to 60 seconds, then 3 minutes, then 5, and finally, 10 minutes by 2022.
With a full hour available, creators can let their imaginations fly! There are endless options, think detailed tutorials or short movies. TikTok wants creators to explore new ideas, and this update helps them do just that.
As TikTok becomes more like YouTube, where does that leave fans of the original short videos?
