vivo V80 Lite Review

The vivo V80 Lite is a midrange smartphone that stands out mainly for its large 10,000mAh battery. After using the device as a daily driver for a week, we found that its battery life is its strongest feature, while its size and entry-level storage configuration may be worth considering.

Design and Build

Our review unit came in the Afterglow Pink color. The phone has a simple design and does not feel particularly premium, but the finish gives it a distinct look.

At 224 grams and 8.6mm thick, the vivo V80 Lite is noticeably large and heavy. Using it with one hand for extended periods can become tiring.

The phone also comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, which can be useful for outdoor use and accidental exposure to water.

Display

The vivo V80 Lite has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, and up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness.

In everyday use, the display produces vibrant colors and deep blacks. Scrolling and navigating through the interface also feel smooth with the 120Hz refresh rate.

The screen remains readable outdoors, including under direct sunlight, although actual visibility can still depend on the lighting conditions.

Cameras

The phone has a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main camera and an auxiliary lens. It also has a 32MP front-facing camera.

For video recording, both the rear and front cameras can record at up to 1080p at 30fps.

For daylight photography, the vivo V80 Lite produces good-looking images with natural colors, good details, and sharpness. It also handles highlights well, preventing bright areas in the background from looking blown out. There are also no noticeable deep blacks or overly dark shadows in the images, which helps retain details across the frame.

In low-light photography, however, the vivo V80 Lite struggles a bit. Photos tend to look softer overall, with some details appearing washed out. Colors remain visible, although there are times when they also look slightly washed out, making the images less sharp and vibrant compared to daylight shots.

For selfies, the vivo V80 Lite produces true-to-life skin tones while retaining facial details and a good level of sharpness. Highlights are also well balanced, with a wide dynamic range that helps preserve details in both bright and darker areas.

Performance

The vivo V80 Lite is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e. Our review unit comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

For everyday tasks such as browsing social media, watching videos, and handling light applications, the phone was able to keep up with regular use. It can also handle some multitasking, although performance can slow down when running heavier applications.

The 128GB storage on our review unit also limits how many apps and files you can store, especially if you keep a lot of media on your phone.

For gaming, we tested Mobile Legends. The game ran well during our testing, with no noticeable stutters or frame drops during gameplay.

Battery Life

The main feature of the vivo V80 Lite is its 10,000mAh battery, paired with 44W fast charging.

After using the phone as a daily driver for a week, we only had to charge it twice. In our PCMark battery test, the phone lasted around 22 hours and 48 minutes, from 100% down to 20%.

The large battery makes the phone more suitable for users who prioritize longer screen time and do not want to charge their device frequently.

Verdict

The vivo V80 Lite is a midrange smartphone with one clear focus: battery life. Its 10,000mAh battery gives it an advantage for users who spend long hours on their phones and prefer to charge less often.

The trade-off is its size and weight, while the 128GB base storage also feels limited considering its price.

For users who prioritize long battery life, the vivo V80 Lite is worth considering. However, those looking for stronger overall performance or more storage at this price range may find other options in the market.
