About a week ago, vivo unveiled its new flagship model for the second half of the year, the vivo V25 Pro. It is positioned in a price range where the competition has been more fierce over the past few weeks. Excellent phones like the OnePlus 10R, OPPO Reno8, and iQOO Neo 6 are already available in this range.

The OnePlus device started out with a higher price tag in India, but over the past few months, the device has seen good discounts, making it even less expensive than the V25 Pro. We already compared the OnePlus device to the Nord 2T a few days ago. today, let’s take a closer look at how the vivo flagship performs in front of another OnePus model, the OnePlus 10R.

The vivo model has an excellent set of cameras and a Dimensity 1300 processor, while the OnePlus 10R has an even better chipset and a similar camera configuration.

So let’s examine their characteristics in more depth in our comparison between the vivo V25 Pro and the OnePlus 10R.

Design

Smartphone design will always be a personal preference. However, the two phones in this comparison have distinct design philosophies. The vivo variant has a more curvy form with curved edges and sides. In addition, the phone has a glass back. It is important to note that this is Fluorite AG glass, which can change colors when exposed to light.

The OnePlus 10R, on the other hand, has a flatter profile, closer to the iPhone design. The OnePlus model also has a plastic back. Overall, the design of the 10R deviates significantly from OnePlus’ conventional design philosophy.

The OnePlus 10R has somewhat smaller, more compact proportions than the vivo V25 Pro (158.9 x 73.5 x 8.6 mm vs. 163.3 x 75.5 x 8.2 mm), but it is also significantly lighter (186g vs. 190g) than the latter device.

Your final decision would be based on whether you choose a curved or flat design profile. If you prefer flat-backed phones, choose the OnePlus 10R; if you want a more curved design, choose Vivo.

Display

The display panels of the two phones are comparable. The vivo V25 Pro, on the other hand, has a little smaller display, as you would have guessed from its measurements. The phone has a 6.56-inch 1080 x 2376 pixel AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz with HDR10+. The OnePlus 10R, on the other hand, has a 6.7-inch 1080 x 2412 pixel resolution Fluid AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certification.

Both screens are rather decent for the money. As a result, unless you prefer a little smaller or larger panel, the display shouldn’t be a key deciding factor.

Specs & Software

If you’ve been keeping up with Vivo over the years, you are aware that the V series flagship never has the finest specifications for the money. The Vivo V25 Pro shares the same characteristics. The phone is equipped with a mid-range processor with respectable performance, the Dimensity 1300 chipset. Up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage are options for memory.

The OnePlus 10R, on the other hand, is equipped with the speedier MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max processor. In terms of pure performance and speed, the CPU is rather strong in the mid-range sector and will exceed 1300. The Dimensity 8100-Max inside the OnePlus 10R might be a superior alternative for gaming and resource-intensive workloads.

The OnePlus variant, like the vivo V25 Pro, has up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

The vivo V25 Pro uses Android 12-based FunTouch 12 OS, whilst the OnePlus 10R runs OxygenOS 12.1.

Camera

The camera arrangement of the vivo V25 Pro is rather powerful. A 64MP f/1.9 primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro camera are included. A big 32MP sensor is used in the selfie camera.

The OnePlus 10R, on the other hand, has a 50MP primary camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 2MP macro camera. The selfie shooter has a 16MP punch-hole lens on the front.

As you may have observed, the secondary camera configurations on the V25 Pro and OnePlus 10R are quite similar. Even with this tiny variation, the primary camera is the only one that is altered, therefore the camera quality shouldn’t be noticeably different. The OnePlus model has taken some passable photos, but nothing particularly noteworthy. The vivo model should operate similarly, too, although any differences will only be apparent after comparing the two versions’ cameras in actual use.

Battery

Both have battery capacities that are comparable. The vivo V25 Pro has a significantly bigger 4830mAh battery on board, as well as support for quick 66W charging. The OnePlus 10R (top-end variant), on the other hand, has a 4500mAh battery with the same ultra-fast 150W charging technology.

Price & Availability

The retail price for the vivo V25 Pro is Php29,999. The OnePlus 10R, on the other hand, is offered in India for a little lower price of 39,999 (around Php28,559)

Performance and price will be the two key factors that ultimately determine which of the two gadgets is purchased.

Choose the vivo model if you want a mid-range phone with a distinctive appearance, quick charging, and a strong set of cameras. On the other hand, getting the 150W version of the OnePlus 10R makes sense if you’re seeking for a phone that’s less expensive, performs better, and charges very quickly.
