Vivo V20 SE With Disappointing Specs Launched for Php13k

In Malaysia, OPPO’s sister company just launched the Vivo V20 SE with a suggested retail price of RM1,199(~Php13,900). Available in Oxygen Blue and Gravity Black colors, the phone features an outdated design and spec sheet. If there’s a reward for the most recycled phone, the V20 SE would’ve won that category.

Starting with what’s not good about the V20 SE, the device comes equipped with Snapdragon 665. The chipset debuted in April 2019, and it’s underpowered when it comes to performance, including its Helio counterparts. For the design, we’re not sure if it’s using glass or polycarbonate material, but the 171g weight could only mean that it’s an all-plastic device. Though that’s understandable given that most brands are releasing plastic-based phones, even with the Galaxy Note 20, seeing a teardrop notch on a phone of this price is baffling. On top of that, the chin bezel appears to be thicker than its competitors. So enough with that, what about the good things?

The display is actually decent, featuring 6.44″ FHD+ AMOLED. It even supports an in-display scanner. The memory combo is also better than others, with 8GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. There are three cameras on the back, featuring a 48MP sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and 2MP depth. We honestly don’t mind it as quad-cameras are usually a gimmick on mid-range phones. Upfront is a 32MP selfie. The battery is rated 4100mAh, alongside 33W fast charging.

  1. Vivo V20 SE With Disappointing Specs Launched for Php13k- SD 665 is so old now. C’mon Vivo you can do better than recycle an old chipset and then price it astronomically.
