Starting Feb. 1, Twitter users can appeal account bans and be examined under the social media platform’s new criteria for reinstatement.
After entrepreneur Elon Musk bought the firm in October, Twitter accounts will only be terminated for serious or continuous and recurrent policy breaches.
Illegal content or activity, encouraging or threatening violence or injury, and targeted harassment of other users are serious policy violations.

Twitter said it would limit the reach of violating messages or require users to erase tweets before using the account instead of suspending accounts.
Musk was criticized in December for canceling numerous journalists’ accounts for posting public data on the billionaire’s jet. He restored the funds.
