Even though Spotify said back in 2021 that they will make HiFi audio available to users, we have been wondering over the past several months if they will equal Apple Music by providing the service. A “Platinum” plan with a very high price is said to be coming shortly, according to surveys that Spotify has recently been doing.
This was discovered on Reddit, where a Spotify Platinum plan is mentioned as being released “in the next 30 days.” It was described in the shared screenshot, and at $19.99/month, or almost Php 1.2k when converted, it will be incredibly pricey.

What extra benefits come with that high price? HiFi, Studio Sound, Headphone Tuner, Audio Insights, Library Pro, Playlist Pro, and Limited-ad Spotify podcasts are among the additional features included in the list. While we have no idea what the last three entail, the inclusion of HiFi and Studio Sound confirms that the long-awaited Spotify HiFi plan will be available soon—though we have mixed feelings about the pricing.
Apple Music presently offers Lossless Audio and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos for $9.99/month in the United States and Php 129/month in the Philippines. which is the same as the existing Spotifty scheme. Assuming Spotify uses regional pricing, we believe their Platinum plan would cost roughly Php 500 per month, which may be regarded pricey for the average Filipino who wants to experience HiFi music. For that sum, one can already obtain a regular Netflix package with some leftover coin.
Nothing is etched in stone for this impending Spotify plan, but we believe the streaming company will change its pricing before making Platinum available to everyone.
