Yesterday, Nintendo posted on Twitter that the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, a single-player DLC, will be released today, June 13, 2018. In this DLC, the players will be acting as Agent 8.

According to the official trailer shown during the E3 2018, the expansion will include 80 missions which unlocks the choice to play as Octolings in multiplayer mode. Solving some added challenges will also give the player some new in-game gear. Furthermore, by getting the DLC, the user automatically gets the Studio Octophones and Octo Layered LS, two octo-themed in-game gear.
Nintendo has stated that updates of the original game won’t be ending in July. Instead, they have promised to keep giving out free updates to weapons, stages, and gear till the end of 2018. Additionally, the company has unveiled a three-pack of Splatoon 2 Octoling amiibo to be released later this year.
As mentioned in the Twitter post, the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion will be available for download at the price of $20 (approx. PHPÂ 1,061).
