Sony has finally unwrapped the new Sony Xperia XA Ultra that will replace the mid-ranger phablet Xperia C5 Ultra. The Sony Xperia XA sports interesting features and specs and will be released this coming July together with the Xperia X, X Performance, and XA.
More on Xperia XA Ultra, the phablet has 6-inch edge-to-edge Full HD 1080p IPS Bravia display with curved 2.5D Arc Glass on top. The body is composed of a metal frame and scratch-proof glass but with no waterproof, dust resistance certification as to the Xperia XA.
Sony Xperia XA Ultra news, reviews, comparisons
The main highlights of the Xperia XA Ultra are the dual camera featuring a 21.5MP main shooter with OIS, hybrid focus, and LED Flash, and the front-facing selfie at 16MP with OIS and LED flash, similar to HTC 10. If we are in the same treatment of Sony, both Xperia X, and XA have likely the same selfie camera quality.
Powering the Xperia XA Ultra is 2,700 mAh battery that is said to last up to 2 days with moderate use according to Sony Philippines. It’s quite smaller compared to the 2930 mAh of Xperia C5, but the addition of newer Mediatek Helio P10 octa-core chip helps and improves the battery life.
Pairing the Helio P10 CPU is a Mali GPU, 3GB RAM, and 16GB internal storage + microSD card memory support.
The Sony Xperia XA Ultra will be launched and released locally in the Philippines at around July too with an estimated price of Php 18k once available.
