Samsung has introduced the P7 Portable SSD at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany.
The new external storage device features USB4 connectivity and transfer speeds of up to 4,000MB/s.
According to Samsung, it is available in 1TB, 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB capacities, with the 8TB model positioned as the world’s first 8TB USB4 portable SSD.
The drive is designed for handling large files, including ultra-high-resolution videos, AI-generated content, and large games. Samsung also says the P7 supports workflows such as direct recording in up to 12K resolution.
It is compatible with desktops, laptops, smartphones, gaming consoles, and cameras. For durability, the device has undergone 2-meter drop, shock, and vibration testing.

In the Philippines, the Samsung P7 Portable SSD is expected to become available in early November through Samsung’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee.
