What’s rumored to be the Galaxy Tab S7+ Lite turned out to be the Galaxy Tab S7 FE 5G, another tablet from Samsung, joining the Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus. Samsung’s FE devices are usually less expensive than their vanilla alternatives; however, the Tab S7 FE 5G costs more than the Tab S7 despite packing a lower memory configuration and a weaker SoC.
In Germany, the Tab S7 FE 5G goes on sale for €649(~₱38,000) for the 4/64GB model. Apparently, a 6/128GB will be on its way soon. Compared to the Tab S7 with 6/128GB and more powerful SoC, it’s only €619(~₱36,400).
Spec-wise, the Tab S7 FE 5G is a 12.4″ tablet with 2560 x 1600 resolution and LCD panel. The refresh rate appears to be 60Hz as Samsung hasn’t 90Hz or 120Hz, but the 10090mAh battery supports 45W fast charging and charges the included S-pen when magnetically attached on the back panel. Samsung claims that the S-pen will feel as if you’re writing on paper, translating actions into real-time digital interactions.
Similar to other Galaxy Tabs this year, the Tab S7 FE 5G also supports Samsung Dex for a desktop-like experience, though you have to buy the optional keyboard accessory for that. Lastly, three microphones work for when you need to do voice calling or video conferencing.
Samsung Tab S7 FE 5G is available in Mystic Black and Mystic Silver with more colors to come later. The company has yet to comment on other releases, though.
