First available through postpaid plans, finally, Samsung Galaxy A42‘s official SRP in the Philippines is now out. As reported first by PinoyTechnoGuidethe 5G handset costs Php19,990 when you purchase it unlocked. With that price, as if 2020 couldn’t be more unpredictable, the Galaxy A42 is the most expensive 720p Android phone we’ve seen by far. You do get a Super AMOLED display, though.

While you do have to settle for a mediocre resolution screen, you’re still getting a capable chipset in the Snapdragon 750 that also brings a 5G modem already. It’s paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB expandable storage. The main camera uses a 48MP sensor, while the teardrop notch houses a 20MP selfie sensor. You can expect great battery life, thanks to the 5000mAh battery, but charging time will test your patience due to the 15W USB-C charger.
