When it comes to performance, the Realme U1 will edge its competitor just a little bit with its Helio P70 based on 12nm process node. But keep in mind that its UI is still stuck at Android 8.1.
Camera-wise, we’re talking about a landslide for the main shooter as the Redmi Note 7 sports a 48MP + 5MP combo while Realme U1 will reign in selfies with its 25MP lens.
In a world wherein headphone jacks are starting to go extinct, these two budget devices still make use of them. However, the Redmi Note 7 will take the lead in the port selection with its USB Type-C.
For this comparison, it’s worth mentioning that Xiaomi’s phone will provide a better wireless connection as its modem supports up to “ac” standard along with the BT 5.0 version.
Lastly, the battery will go to the Redmi device with its 4000mAh capacity while being backed up by a fast 18W charging capability.
With both devices having a 3GB/32GB base model, the Redmi Note 7 starts at Php7,700 while the Realme U1 is at Php9,990 already. Going up to 4GB/64GB model will set you back at Php11,990 for the Realme U1, that’s already the 6GB/64GB for the Redmi device.
Unless your phone is mainly for taking selfies, we’d rather you have the Redmi Note 7 regardless of the model.
