Redmi 8 and 8A with 5000 mAh battery, SD 439 launched at P5k price

Available in all Mi authorized stores, the Redmi 8 and 8A are priced at P6,490 (3GB/32GB) and P5,490 (2GB/32GB) respectively. There’s a more expensive variant for the Redmi 8, featuring 4GB/64GB memory combo for P6,990 only.

Both phones are considered as cheap phones as they are priced under P7k only. In terms of specs, both, again, are nearly identical. They feature 6.22″ HD+ LCD with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. There’s Snapdragon 439 chipset with a whopping 5000mAH battery that charges via USB Type-C already.

The difference is that Redmi 8 has a fingerprint scanner on the back and a dual-camera setup.
