Ricoh has opened pre-orders in the Philippines for the Ricoh GR IV Monochrome.
The GR IV Monochrome is a compact digital camera designed for black-and-white photography, as suggested by its “Monochrome” name.
It includes a 3.0-inch 1.04M-dot touchscreen LCD, 53GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot, and Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity.
The GR IV Monochrome uses a 25.7MP APS-C BSI CMOS sensor without a color filter array, allowing it to capture black-and-white images only.
It also includes a built-in red contrast filter to improve tonal separation in monochrome shots. The camera features a new 28mm f/2.8 lens (full-frame equivalent) and supports 14-bit DNG and JPEG recording.
Ricoh has added a 5-axis, 6-stop sensor-shift image stabilization system, along with ISO ranges from ISO 160 to ISO 409,600, and shutter speeds reach up to 1/16,000 sec using the electronic shutter.
Video recording is limited to Full HD up to 60fps. The camera does not have a built-in flash but includes a hot shoe for accessories.
The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome weighs 228 grams body-only and supports the GR WORLD mobile app on Android and iOS.
The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome is priced at PHP133,888. The camera is listed as in stock for pre-order at Henry’s Camera website, with the reservation period running until March 31, 2026.

Let’s offer a super specific camera for a niche market but make the lens as slow as any lens available…oh, and that thing the niche camera relies on…proper flash…we will also leave that functionality off…
