OPPO has introduced ColorOS 17, featuring a redesigned interface, performance improvements, and new AI-powered tools.
The update introduces a new design with smoother animations, translucent elements, and lighting effects. Its Unified Rendering Architecture is designed to make transitions between interface elements more fluid, with buttons, bars, and notification panels responding to taps and drags.
ColorOS 17 also uses the Laminar Flow Engine, which includes an Adaptive Scheduling Architecture that adjusts system resources based on usage. OPPO claims the update delivers up to 55% more stable app launches, 50% faster photo loading, and 25% higher app retention.
The update also adds several AI features, including AI Mind Space, which organizes saved images, notes, and locations into collections. Meanwhile, AI Photo Agent helps users edit photos by adjusting elements such as lighting, color, composition, and retouching through prompts and suggested edits.
Other AI features include OSee, which identifies what users are viewing and recommends relevant AI tools, and AI Live Interpreter, which translates conversations through compatible earbuds using speaker recognition.
ColorOS 17 also introduces AI Face Swap Detection to identify potentially manipulated faces in videos and Synthetic Voice Recognition to detect AI-generated voices during phone and WhatsApp calls.
Enhanced Protection Mode is designed to make devices easier to use and provide additional protection against scams.
