Yet another mid-range phone has been released. As if the F11 series wasn’t enough, the Chinese company officially launched the OPPO A9 to add to your never-ending list of “to buy” phones. The A9 is a slight upgrade in specs (but a significant one on the design end) to the OPPO A7 for not much of a price increase.

Starting with the design, the OPPO A9 sports a 3D gradient design that comes in three colors: Mica Green, Ice Jade White, and Fluorite Purple. Interestingly, the White variant reminds me of the OnePlus 6 Silk White variant. Up front let you see the waterdrop notch from the 6.53-inch FHD+ display — boasting 90.7% screen-to-body ratio.
As for the innards, it has an Helio P70 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage. It also runs on ColorOS 6 based on Android 9.0 Pie while being backed up by a 4020mAh battery.
For photography, the A9 is being headlined by a dual 16MP + 2MP camera setup (vertically aligned with the fingerprint scanner). While the selfie snapper is yet another 16MP sensor.
The OPPO A9 will go on sale in China starting April 30 at CNY 1799 or ~ P13,900. It’s expected to arrive in the Philippines starting May, but take that with a grain of salt.
