The OnePlus 9 Series, at least for the global market, offers two variants, which are the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro. In India, another model joins in, which is called OnePlus 9R. Based on its specs, the 9R stands between the mid-range Nord of 2020 and the company’s top-end lineup in 2021. It’s set to become available in April with a price of INR 40,000(~Php26,700) for the 8/128GB and INR 44,000(~Php29,400) for the 12/256GB. As for the rest of the specs, here’s what you’re getting.
OnePlus 9R comes equipped with the same flat 6.55″ 120Hz FHD+ Fluid AMOLED as the regular 9. It also features a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The battery is rated 4500mAh but supports 65W Warp Charge. No wireless charging, though. No headphone jack, but the stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos. The 9R is available in Lake Blue and Carbon Black colors.
Where the 9R starts to save cost is in the performance and camera side of things. The chipset is headlined by the Snapdragon 870 with support for 5G, albeit no mmWave, and the camera is commanded by 48MP OIS, 16MP ultrawide, 5MP macro, and 2MP monochrome. Interestingly, the OIS feature isn’t available on the regular 9. However, the Hasselblad branding is dropped.
