Samsung has added a new model to its Galaxy A series lineup with the Galaxy A27 5G.

Let’s start with the design. The only aspect I didn’t particularly like is the glossy rear panel. It easily attracts fingerprint smudges, making the phone look worn after only a short period of use. Aside from that, the device feels well-built.
The rear panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, giving it a more premium and durable feel. Despite weighing around 200g, the Galaxy A27 5G does not feel overly heavy in the hand. It also comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
While it is not the highest level of protection available, it should be sufficient for everyday use as long as you take reasonable care of the device.
On the front, the Galaxy A27 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
Like the rear panel, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, adding an extra layer of durability.
The display delivers vibrant colors and sharp visuals, making it enjoyable for watching videos, browsing social media, and other multimedia activities.
Outdoor visibility is also decent, as the panel reaches up to 1,400 nits of peak brightness, keeping content visible even in bright sunlight.
For photography, the Galaxy A27 5G is equipped with a triple-camera setup consisting of a 50MP main camera, a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.
On the front, it features a 12MP selfie camera for selfies and video calls.
The rear cameras deliver good color reproduction, along with solid detail and sharpness. Highlights are well-controlled, while the level of vibrancy is balanced and not overly saturated.
Selfies may appear soft at first glance, but a closer look reveals good detail and a natural-looking image. Facial hair and fine details around the eyes remain visible, resulting in clear and realistic selfies.
For low-light photography, lens flares are quite noticeable around bright light sources. Despite this, the overall images remain clear with decent detail.
For video recording, the rear camera supports up to 4K at 30fps, while the front camera can record at up to 1080p (Full HD) at 30fps.
Powering the Galaxy A27 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. Our review unit comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
In everyday use, the phone delivers a smooth experience. Navigating the interface feels responsive, and I did not encounter any noticeable slowdowns. App switching is seamless, making multitasking comfortable for daily tasks.
My biggest concern is the base storage configuration. At this price point, 128GB feels somewhat limiting considering the increasing size of games, videos, and even social media applications. A 256GB base storage option would have been a more competitive offering. Aside from that, the device performs well for its intended market.
Gaming performance is also respectable. The Galaxy A27 5G handles popular competitive titles without major issues. Here are some of its benchmark results.
The Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery paired with 25W wired charging.
During our battery test, the phone started at 70% charge. After approximately six hours of use, including around three to four hours of watching House of the Dragon, the battery dropped to 48%.
Based on our experience, casual users can comfortably expect a full day of battery life, with some charge likely remaining for the following day

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A27 5G is a dependable daily driver. Its biggest drawbacks are the base RAM and storage configuration, which feel underwhelming for its price.
Nevertheless, it offers a vibrant display, capable cameras, reliable battery life, and solid everyday performance.
If your priority is getting the best hardware value for your money, there are other smartphones in this price range that offer more competitive specifications. However, if you want a reliable Samsung device and value the One UI ecosystem, the Galaxy A27 5G remains a worthwhile option to consider.
