Samsung has confirmed that it will add support for AirDrop file sharing starting with the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.

This follows after Google’s efforts in improving file sharing between Android’s Quick Share and iOS’ AirDrop without the need to download additional software.
The feature will enable Galaxy users to send files straight to Apple devices using AirDrop compatibility. The support will be added in Galaxy S26 series phones through a software update and will expand soon to other Galaxy smartphones.
However, there is no word yet on the exact timeline of the rollout, but it is expected to arrive for the Galaxy S26 series within the year.

Once this feature is rolled out to other Android devices, it will make file sharing between different ecosystems seamless.
Stay tuned for more updates.
