Samsung Health Adds AI Data Consent Option

Samsung Health is asking users if they want to allow their health data to be used for AI training and modelling.

According to Samsung, the data will help improve Samsung Health, including its health analysis and AI-powered features.

Some of the data may also be reviewed by people as part of the process.

The data that may be used includes:

  • Health and wellness data, such as body measurements, nutrition, steps, exercise, and sleep
  • Medication information, including prescriptions and dosages
  • Health records, such as diagnoses, test results, and treatments
  • Menstrual cycle tracking data, including symptoms and heart rate

On the other hand, users can change their decision at any time by going to Samsung Health > Settings > Privacy.

If they withdraw their consent, Samsung says it will stop using their data for AI training.

The setting also applies to other supported devices using the same Samsung account. Users can also check the Samsung Health Privacy Notice for more details on how their data is handled.
