realme just launched a new smartphone in the market, the realme 16T 5G. How does it compare to its predecessor, the realme 15T 5G?
While both are mid-range smartphones, they differ in several key areas. If you want to know more, here’s how the two phones compare.
Starting with the build, the realme 15T 5G is around 7.79mm to 7.89mm thick, depending on the variant. It weighs around 183 grams and uses AGC DT-Star D+ glass protection. It also has IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for protection against dust and water.

On the other hand, the realme 16T 5G is about 8.8mm thick, while weighing 224 grams. It uses Panda-1681 Glass and has IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
In this case, the realme 16T 5G is larger and heavier, but offers more extensive IP protection. The 15T 5G, however, has a lighter and thinner design.
On the front, the realme 15T 5G has a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a 1080 × 2372 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 4,000 nits peak brightness.
The realme 16T 5G has a larger 6.83-inch LCD with a 1570 × 720 resolution and a faster 144Hz refresh rate. It reaches up to 1,200 nits HBM brightness.

While the 16T 5G has a higher refresh rate and larger screen, the 15T 5G has a sharper AMOLED panel, wider color coverage, and higher peak brightness.
Now onto the cameras. The realme 15T 5G comes with a 50MP main rear camera and a 50MP front camera. Both cameras support up to 1080p video recording at 60fps.

The realme 16T 5G also has a 50MP main camera, along with a 2MP monochrome camera. For selfies, it uses a 16MP front camera. Its rear camera can record at up to 1080p at 60fps, while the front camera supports up to 1080p at 30fps. It comes with a new feature for its rear camera as well, which is the selfie mirror.

The two phones have similar main camera resolutions, but the realme 15T 5G has a higher-resolution front camera and more capable selfie video recording.
Under the hood, the realme 15T 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Max, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. It runs realme UI 6.0 based on Android 15 and supports Dynamic RAM Expansion.
The realme 16T 5G uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It runs the newer realme UI 7.0.

Both phones support expandable storage too.
Looking at it closely, realme 15T 5G’s Dimensity 6400 Max is slightly newer and has a higher CPU clock, though the difference from the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 is not huge. It also offers higher RAM capacity, and up to 512GB storage gives it a stronger hardware configuration. On the other hand, the realme 16T 5G does have the newer software version.
The realme 15T 5G packs a 7,000mAh battery with support for 60W SUPERVOOC charging. An 80W SUPERVOOC charging adapter is included in the box.

The realme 16T 5G has a larger 8,000mAh battery, but supports 45W SUPERVOOC charging.
As for the battery department, this depends on what you need, the 16T 5G has the larger battery, while the 15T 5G has faster charging.
The realme 15T 5G is priced at PHP16,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant and PHP19,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.
Meanwhile, the realme 16T 5G costs PHP22,999 for the 8GB + 128GB model and PHP24,999 for the 8GB + 256GB version.
