MediaTek has introduced the Dimensity 9600M, a new smartphone chipset positioned alongside the Dimensity 9600 Pro.
Built on TSMC’s 3nm N3P process, the Dimensity 9600M uses the same CPU configuration as the Dimensity 9500. It has one C1-Ultra core at 4.21GHz, three C1-Premium cores at 3.5GHz, and four C1-Pro cores at 2.7GHz, along with 16MB of L3 cache and 10MB of system cache.
It also uses the Arm Mali-G1 Ultra MC12 GPU and APU 990 for AI processing, including MediaTek’s compute-in-memory efficiency core. Memory and storage support include LPDDR5X at up to 10,667MHz and four-lane UFS 4.1.
For imaging, the chipset supports up to 320MP cameras, 8K video at 60fps, 4K at 120fps with EIS, and 4K at 60fps cinematic recording. It also features an ISP for image processing and real-time tracking.
The Dimensity 9600M includes MediaTek’s Agentic AI Engine and Dimensity Scheduling Engine, along with HyperEngine gaming features supporting frame rates of up to 185fps.
The first smartphones powered by the Dimensity 9600M are expected to launch in the third quarter of 2026.
