Canon has announced a new full-frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R8 Mark II.
The EOS R8 Mark II is Canon’s smallest and lightest full-frame camera with in-body image stabilization (IBIS), weighing approximately 546 grams with the battery and memory card.
It features a 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor paired with Canon’s DIGIC X processor, along with a 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder.
For stabilization, the EOS R8 Mark II uses a 5-axis in-body system. When paired with compatible RF lenses with optical image stabilization, Canon says it can provide up to 7.5 stops of stabilization at the center and 7.0 stops at the edges.
The camera can shoot at up to 40fps using the electronic shutter. Its pre-continuous shooting feature can also capture up to 20 frames before the shutter button is fully pressed.
Autofocus is handled by Dual Pixel CMOS AF II with subject detection and tracking for people, animals, and vehicles. It also includes a multi-controller for adjusting the AF point.

For video, the EOS R8 Mark II supports 4K recording at up to 59.94fps, oversampled from 6K. It also supports Full HD recording at up to 180fps, Canon Log 3, Custom Picture, and custom LUT previews.
The camera also introduces 16 Colour Filters, including the new NegativeFilmtone and PositiveFilmtone filters. Its Handheld Night Scene mode also gets four new color options.
