While most of the world is trying its best to cope up with the effects of the pandemic, the practices that we do at home are the ones that keep us away from being infected. Face masks, as well as face shields, have become high commodities in this new normal as we try our best to practice social distancing. However, washable face masks can’t stop the virus, while surgical-grade ones are hard to come by. Enter LG’s PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier — the only face mask you need in this pandemic.
Even long before the pandemic, LG has been at the forefront in clear air solutions. Its latest creation at IFA 2020, which is the hi-tech wearable face mask, packs tons of safety features that may just save your life and others.
For starters, the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier is designed based on “extensive facial shape analysis” to minimize air leakage around the nose and chin. LG, of course, hasn’t forgotten to make it comfortable for the wearer, claiming it can be used for hours.
Aside from snugly fit, the smart wearable mask comes with two H13 HEPA filters. This kind of filter capture 99.97% of particles with a diameter of 0.3μm. You can easily replace the filter to keep the air supply clean, safe, and fresh. But, the filtration doesn’t stop there. The face mask also comes with dual-fans and a patented Respiratory Sensor. When intaking air, the sensor detects the cycle and volume of the wearer’s breath and adjusts the dual three-speed fans accordingly. In other words, you can breathe safely and comfortably.
After hours of use, you have to clean the mask itself. Luckily, LG has you covered. The tailor-made case for the mask is equipped with UV-LED lights that kill harmful germs. At the same time, it can charge the 820mAh battery of the mask and send a notification to the ThinQ mobile app (Android/iOS) when the filters need to be replaced for peak performance. For the mask itself, it can last up to eight hours in low mode and two hours on high.
LG has yet to the price of the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier, but it’s hoping to bring its innovative safety mask in the Philippines later this year.
