UNISOC, the chipset manufacturing company in China, has announced the Lenovo A7. Sporting the SC9863A SoC, the chipset features eight ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 1.6GHz for one performance cluster and up to 1.2GHz for the efficiency cluster. According to Notebookcheck, the SC9863A is an entry-level SoC which could mean Lenovo A7 is a budget phone. Judging by the spec sheet, that seems to be the case.
Lenovo A7 has a 6.09″ waterdrop display, 13MP+2MP dual-main cameras, 5MP selfie camera, and a removable 4000mAh battery that’s claimed to last up to 416-hours of standby time. As seen from the official image, there’s a fingerprint scanner on the back. A previous listing on Google Play adds 2GB RAM, Android 9 Pie, and HD+ screen resolution to the specs. Both the price and availability of the Lenovo A7 wasn’t mentioned. However, we do expect the device to be made for the Chinese market given the use of a different chipset.
