Design

The new iQOO Neo 7 retains its predecessor’s fundamental form factor. The back design, on the other hand, has changed. While both the Neo 7 and Neo 6 have a squarish body frame with rounded edges and a front-facing punch-hole camera, they differ in the form of the back camera module. The iQOO 7 uses a rectangular back camera module with a circular enclosure to house the two cameras on board. The flash and other sensors have been relocated outside of the circular housing. A flash and three camera sensors are contained inside the black camera enclosure of the iQOO Neo 6, in contrast. Since both designs are attractive, choosing between the iQOO 7 and iQOO 6 will come down to personal choice. For the new gadget, iQOO is also providing more color options, including Orange, Blue, and Black. Remember that the iQOO Neo 6 has two color options: Cyber Rage and Dark Nova.

The iQOO Neo 7 is taller than its predecessor in terms of size. It measures 164.8 x 76.9 x 8.5 mm, which is both taller and wider than the iQOO Neo 6’s 163 x 76.2 x 8.5 mm measurements. In addition, the new model weighs 7 grams more, at 197 grams. Both phones include an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Display

The iQOO Neo 7 has a bigger and brighter display than its predecessor. The display of the Neo 7 is a 6.78-inch FHD+ 1080 x 2400 pixel AMOLED with a high 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 2000Hz immediate touch sampling rate, up to 1500nits brightness, and Pixelworks independent display chip Pro+. On the new gadget, the improved Pixelworks processor will provide enhanced video and motion processing.

The iQOO Neo 6, on the other hand, has a smaller 6.62-inch AMOLED, 120Hz display with HDR10+. The maximum brightness is somewhat lower at 1300 nits, but the display should be comparable to the current model. The iQOO Neo 6, as previously stated, uses an earlier version Pixelworks X5 series processor.

Camera

The triple camera arrangement of the iQOO Neo 7 includes a 50MP camera with a 1/1.56′′ Sony IMX766V sensor, f/1.88 aperture, and OIS, an additional 8MP UW sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and lastly a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture. The primary camera is the sole significant modification in the camera section. The remaining sensors are the same as those in the new model even though the prior iQOO Neo 6 had a 64MP sensor. The front of each phone has a 16MP camera that can be used for selfies and video calls.

Specs & Performance

The new model also has some upgrades under the hood, such as a flagship-grade gaming CPU. The iQOO Neo 7 is equipped with the newest Dimensity 9000 Plus CPU, which boosts its performance to the highest level. In comparison, the worldwide iQOO Neo 6 model included the Snapdragon 870 processor, whilst the Chinese variant used the top Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 CPU. The iQOO Neo 7 should provide excellent gaming and performance when combined with the new Pixelworks processor.

With the Neo 7, iQOO has gone all out in terms of customizations. In China, it is promoting a brand-new model with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The iQOO Neo 6 may only have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, on the other hand. Additionally, the new model has the most recent Android 13 OS with OriginOS Ocean on top. However, the iQOO Neo 6 continues to use the Android 12 OS.

Battery

In terms of battery life, the iQOO Neo 7 has a few improvements. The Neo 6 model’s battery size has been increased from 4700mAh to 5000mAh, and the charging speed has been increased to 120W, bringing it up to flagship levels. Unfortunately, neither phone has wireless charging built-in.

Price & Availability

In China, the iQOO Neo7 costs around $380 or €380 (around Php22,229). This is actually less expensive than the iQOO Neo 6’s RMB 2799 ($386 or Php22,579) initial pricing in China.
