Apple has yet to officially announce the iPhone 18 series, but several reports suggest the next-generation iPhones could arrive in September 2026, following the company’s usual launch schedule.
According to multiple Apple-focused publications, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to bring several hardware upgrades while keeping a design similar to the current generation.
According to reports, the device might feature LTPO+ displays and a smaller Dynamic Island.
The Pro models are also expected to feature Apple’s A20 Pro chip, which is rumored to use TSMC’s 2nm process.
Camera improvements are expected as well. Both Pro models are rumored to introduce Apple’s first variable aperture main camera. A recent leak also claims the iPhone 18 Pro Max could use Sony’s IMX905 image sensor for its main camera, while the telephoto, ultrawide, front camera, and LiDAR sensor may remain largely unchanged.
Other rumored upgrades include a simplified Camera Control button with pressure sensitivity only, a redesigned rear Ceramic Shield around the MagSafe area, and a new Dark Cherry color option.
For the iPhone 18 Pro Max, reports also suggest a larger battery. Additionally, the upcoming devices may also support 5G via satellite in areas without cellular or Wi-Fi coverage.
Meanwhile, rumors continue to point to Apple introducing its first foldable iPhone, although it may launch alongside the Pro models or at a different time. Some reports also claim the standard iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and the next-generation iPhone Air could arrive in early 2027 instead of September.
Apple has not confirmed any of these details, so the rumored specifications and launch timeline should be treated as unofficial until the company makes an announcement.
