Intel is unveiling its latest powerhouse processor, the Core i9-14900KS. It’s all about speed with this one, boasting a turbo boost that ramps up to a blazing 6.2GHz. That’s 200MHz faster than its predecessor, the Core i9-13900KS, which was already breaking records last year by hitting the 6GHz mark straight out of the box.

But what’s even better? The price tag. At $689 (PHP38,280), it’s just a tad cheaper than the previous model, making it a tempting choice for those craving top-tier performance without breaking the bank.

Now, you might be wondering what sets this new chip apart. Well, besides the impressive clock speeds, the 14900KS shares a lot in common with its sibling, the 14900K. Both pack a punch with 24 cores, featuring a mix of high-performance and efficiency cores. However, the 14900KS does demand a bit more power, coming in at 150 watts compared to the 125 watts of the 14900K.

Intel claims that the 14900KS can deliver up to 15 percent better gaming performance than its predecessor, and a whopping 73 percent improvement in multitasking workflows compared to AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X.

With Intel’s own tests hinting at victory in some gaming scenarios, it’s clear that the 14900KS means serious business. So, is this the processor to rule them all?
