One of its standout features is its design. Sporting a vegan leather back panel, it exudes a premium vibe uncommon in budget smartphones. Despite its classification, it doesn’t compromise on design quality.
With a sturdy build, slim profile, and lightweight feel at 196g, it’s a solid contender. The camera module, akin to other NOTE 40 series devices, is spacious and slightly protruding.
On the frame, you’ll find the volume rockers and power button on the right side, a speaker grille and microphone on top, and due to its slim profile, the SIM tray is located at the bottom alongside the USB C port and another speaker grille.
The Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G boasts a neat and refreshing look. Extended use is comfortable thanks to its curved edges and leather-backed design.
Unfortunately, it lacks a 3.55mm headphone jack but compensates with an IP53 rating for splash resistance
Turning to the front, it features a 6.78″ FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Navigation across applications is seamless with no hiccups.
Given its price, the display is top-notch, offering vibrant colors, impressive viewing angles, and durability thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It’s fairly bright, reaching a peak brightness of 1300 nits, making it ideal for entertainment.
In the camera department, the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G sports a triple camera setup with a 108MP OIS main lens, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor, along with a 32MP selfie shooter.
The main camera delivers decent results with ample details and sharpness, along with good color distribution and a wide dynamic range. The results are suitable for social media posting. Occasionally, outputs may appear pale, but AI enhancement can balance it out.
As for its 32MP selfie camera, it produces decent sharpness and colors, capturing true-to-life skin tones with ample details. In low-light conditions, AI enhancement boosts the color, preventing results from appearing soft and pale.
While it may not boast the best camera performance, considering its price, the results and features it offers make it worthwhile.
Video recording capabilities include 2K@30FPS with ultra steady off and 1080P@30FPS with ultra steady on for both front and rear cameras.
Moving on to its performance, the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G runs on a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 7020 chip. The unit we reviewed packs 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage, with an option for an additional 12GB of RAM expansion via MemFusion. Gaming on this device is enjoyable, particularly for MOBA games. It delivers smooth and decent performance, with no frame drops or stutter during our playthrough. However, the device did experience a slight heating issue after extended gaming sessions.

The device houses a 4600mAh battery, supported by 100W FastCharge, which might seem small, but it’s paired with an impressive 100W FastCharge support. In our tests, it lasted approximately 14 hours and 32 minutes in a video loop and around 5 hours during intense gaming sessions.
Charging from 0 to 100% took roughly 31 minutes, an impressive feat considering its price.
The Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G comes with a price tag of PHP13,999 for the 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage variant. Priced under 15K, it stands as a solid all-around device. When considering a smartphone purchase, there are numerous factors to weigh, but Infinix manages to deliver optimal results across the board. It boasts an impressive design and display, coupled with decent camera and gaming performance. Like any device, it has its pros and cons, but in my opinion, the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G is a solid choice.
