When the infamous notch started appearing, a lot of people have expressed their opinions on it. Some liked it but a huge number seemed to hate it. Unfortunately for these people, a lot of the new models have decided to sport the notch in order to increase the phone’s display. One of these models is the Huawei P20. However, according to Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group, there is a way to hide the notch from the screen.
Mr. Chengdong stated that after the Huawei P20’s release, some people didn’t like the notch screen even though they used a small notch for their device. He explained that they provided a way to turn off the notch display in the display options. Additionally, they used the chin fingerprint to replace the three virtual keys in the screen in order to maximize the use of the screen area.
Huawei’s way of hiding the notch is by darkening the surrounding area. While it doesn’t remove the notch entirely, this can be a good solution for those who can’t stand the notch.
