If you’ve removed or hidden the “News and Interests” widget in the Windows 10 taskbar that displays the weather forecast, you might wonder how to restore it. This is how.
It’s simple to remove the weather and news widget but also to forget how to reenable it afterward. Fortunately, turning it back on simply takes a few seconds.
Reminder: It is impossible to activate News and Interests if the taskbar is placed on the screen’s top, left, or right. You can’t even force it to work with a registry hack.

To begin, right-click the taskbar. Pick “News and Interests” from the menu that appears, and then, from the submenu that appears, select “Show icon and text.”
The weather widget will display near the clock and notification area in your taskbar.
If you have the News and Features widget active and have deactivated the weather card, follow these steps to restore it.
To completely open the widget, click the widget button on your taskbar (the weather forecast). When it’s open, click the three-dot menu button in the widget’s upper-right corner. Then, from the menu, choose “Language and Content.”
The widget settings will be displayed in the Edge browser. Turn on “Weather” in the “Information Cards” section of the “Experience Settings” page by clicking the switch next to it (It will be blue and facing the right side of the switch.).
Close the setup page in Edge and return to the weather and news widget. Click the refresh button, which looks like a round arrow towards the top of the widget window.
The weather card will then be accessible again. You may repeat this procedure with any other widget cards you may have hidden. Best wishes!
