HOHOR officially launched their HONOR 50 series in China! This will be utilizing an Android 11-based OS named Magic UI 4.2 but the company plans to release the device with a Google Mobile Service worldwide.
In a recent statement by the company, HONOR confirms that Google apps, as well as Google Play Store, will be making its return to the HONOR 50 series. This will officially happen as they launch it globally and it would be followed up with the launch of all phones worldwide to be launched with GMS.
“HONOR devices will undergo Google’s Play Protect certified security review and compatibility testing process to ensure they are ready to run apps from Google and the Google Play Store.
HONOR devices will therefore have the option to have Google Mobile Services (“GMS”) preinstalled on compatible devices, in accordance with Google’s licensing and governance models. Consumers will be able to experience HONOR smartphones and tablets equipped with GMS,” stated HONOR.
Pre-orders are already rolling out in China while other countries such as UK, France, Mexico, Malaysia, Russia, and Saudi Arabia are expected to receive the HONOR 50 series within the year. There are no announcements coming from the company on when it will be available in the Philippines.
