HONOR has started teasing its upcoming smartphone lineup, the Magic9 series.
The HONOR Magic9 series will go official in September, but tipsters point to a specific launch date of September 28.
Ahead of the launch, the brand has also shared teasers showing that the device will have an ARRI-branded camera, following the partnership between the two companies earlier this year.
Founded in 1917, ARRI is a German manufacturer of professional motion picture equipment, specializing in cinema cameras, lenses, lighting, and post-production systems. The company’s industry-standard technology has earned 20 Scientific and Technical Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
This partnership aims to bring ARRI’s “professional film-grade” imaging capabilities to HONOR’s flagship smartphones, potentially giving mobile creators access to cinema-quality color and advanced camera tools.
Aside from the ARRI branding, the teasers also showed that one of the cameras is a 200MP shooter with a 1/1.4″ sensor and OIS.
Meanwhile, reports claim that it will have two 200MP sensors: a 200MP f/1.57 1/1.28-inch camera with 3-degree OIS support and a 200MP f/2.6 1/1.4-inch periscope telephoto sensor. A third ultra-wide sensor completes the setup.
Additionally, the smartphone is rumored to be the world’s first smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s upcoming 2nm Snapdragon processor.
Reports also suggest that it will be built with a new all-metal design, which will significantly aid in heat dissipation.
