One thing about smartphones lately is their design. Some don’t even need a case because of their aesthetically pleasing look.
But design is just one thing to consider when getting a new device. We also need to know its performance and whether it’s worth the money we spend, right?
That is why, in this article, we focus more on the vivo V70’s overall real-life performance and appearance.
The vivo V70 unit we have is in Alpine Gray. True to its name, it comes in a simple gray color. Its back has a lighter shade of gray, while the camera module stands out a little with a darker tone. There’s also a “vivo” logo at the lower part.

Moreover, it is created with aerospace-grade aluminum, which makes it durable. Not only that but, it also comes with rounded corners, and as someone with a bit of a large hand, long hours of gaming or casual usage are still comfortable.
Aside from the frame, the camera module is also made of aerospace-grade aluminum and houses the triple camera setup and phone flash. On the front is a punch-hole selfie camera.

While Alpine Gray may seem plain, it’s a versatile color that fits any occasion or outfit. Adding a case or accessories is easy because the neutral color pairs well with almost anything.
While the other color option is called Golden Hour. Honestly, it’s a more creative color than Alpine Gray. Some might even skip a case with this colorway, as it resembles a sunset.
Overall, both colors are good, it just depends on your personal taste.
What’s inside the device is a 6500mAh BlueVolt battery with 90W FlashCharge charging. In our experience, from 10:22 AM to 1:32 PM, a span of 3 hours and 10 minutes, the battery dropped from 89% to 76%, a 13% decrease, which averages to roughly 4% per hour during continuous movie playback.
During this time, I was watching a movie, which shows that the battery drain is relatively moderate even during continuous video playback.

The device can also last a whole night. I was able to test this while listening to podcasts overnight, and when I woke up, there was still battery life left.
Charging the device from 0% to 100% took less than an hour in our experience. To be exact, it reached a full charge in 57 minutes and 42 seconds.
Another highlight is that the device doesn’t heat up quickly. To be specific, the vivo V70 does get warm during extended use, such as long movie sessions or music playback, but it’s never hot enough to be concerning.
One more thing, the vivo V70 also features IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance. It is built to withstand immersion and high-pressure water jets, with up to 48 hours of rain resistance.
While we were not able to personally test the high-pressure water jets, we did use the device with wet hands and in water.
You might have experienced this before, some devices struggle to respond when your fingers are wet. This usually happens when using a phone while washing dishes, taking a bath, doing laundry, or when you simply have sweaty hands.

However, using the vivo V70 in these situations was not difficult. The screen remained responsive even when my fingers were wet or when the device was exposed to splashes of water.
While there were occasional moments when the response was slightly less precise, it is still a useful and convenient feature.
Meanwhile, exposure to dust and dirt resulted in the same experience. The device remained responsive and was not difficult to use at all.
On the software side, the vivo V70 runs OriginOS 6.
We like its translucent colors and gradient blur effects, which add depth without creating too much clutter. The interface looks clean and pleasing to the eye.
There’s also a feature called Origin Island, which allows users to drag content into it for cross-app services, pin frequently used applications, or copy content like URLs or phone numbers.
In our experience, the copy feature is the most convenient since it makes it easy to transfer important information between apps.

The design also features more rounded corners, making the interface visually appealing.
Another fun feature is the vivo V70 Flip Cards. The device has six different flip cards that can be customized, including the vivo x POP MART Zsiga Flip Card, which, as its name suggests, moves when the device is flipped. In my opinion, the moving wallpaper is quite cute and adds a playful touch to the device.

To use the Flip Cards, first open Settings, tap on Home Screen, Lock Screen, and Wallpaper, choose Themes, then scroll down to Flip Cards and select one of the six options.

During its launch in the Philippines, POP MART APAC Head of Brand Partnerships and Activation, Kevin Zhang, shared that Zsiga was chosen because of its bold and honest personality, reflecting the self-expression encouraged by the vivo V70.
Actress Marian Rivera was also present and expressed her happiness about the collaboration between vivo and POP MART.

Also, the vivo V70 offers six years of security updates and four major OS upgrades, meaning you likely won’t need to upgrade your phone anytime soon.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, which is a solid midrange chip with noticeable improvements over its predecessor.
This chipset might still lag behind flagship processors in raw performance, AI capabilities, and high-end gaming, but it can handle daily tasks and medium-level gaming well, which makes it suitable for a realistically priced midrange phone in 2026.
In our experience, gaming using the vivo V70 runs smoothly with only minor frame drops.

Playing Mobile Legends with this phone is enjoyable, with stable frame rates and good performance. However, long and continuous gaming sessions can cause slight warmth and occasional stutters.
We also did some video editing using the device involving transitions and animations, and fortunately, the device did not experience slowdowns or crashes.

The vivo V70 is priced at PHP31,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant, PHP35,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model, and PHP39,999 for the 12GB + 512GB configuration.
It is available for purchase now in vivo stores nationwide or online via the vivo e-store, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.
For those purchasing through Home Credit, an additional PHP500 discount is available until April 30. Buyers can bring home the vivo V70 for as low as PHP42 per day for up to 18 months at 0% interest.
