The biggest advantage of having a wireless charging pad is that you do not need to plug and connect the cables from the adapter going to your phone. You simply put your phone on top of the charging pad then the battery juice is instantly charged.

However, there is one big disadvantage for wireless pads and that is its slower power rating or charging rate. But not all charging pads are painfully slow in charging your phone. Some companies are starting to release pads that support faster power rating as the one from Choetech.

Choetech Qi-enabled Wireless Charging Pad for iPhone and Android phones

The new Choetech is a Qi-enabled wireless charging pad that supports 7.5W rating for iPhone Xs and Xs Max while a faster 10W is available for Samsung Galaxy S (S6 and S7 to S8 and S9) and Note series (Note 8, Note 9). Of course, the Charging Pad supports other phones with wireless charging features.

Design and features

With a relatively large polycarbonate area, the Choetech Wireless Charging Pad securely charges your wireless-enabled phone, thanks to the 3-coil setup behind. And in terms of size, the charging pad is very handy and could easily fit in your pocket if you plan to bring it outside.

The only downside for its design is the flat form factor but the rubber feet below ensures that it will not get easily slip when putting near edges. This is true for the charging area as there is rubber stopper.

The top edge on the left side sits an LED notification light which turns green when it charges a phone. It also notifies you when you plug in the adapter connected to the pad.

Power rating and performance

The pad is compatible with most mobile phone chargers as long as it is a 1.5A or up (5V 1.5A or 5V 2A). Meanwhile, the output is up to 7.5W for iPhones and 10W for Samsung and Android smartphones.

On the real world, it takes about 3 hours more to fully charge my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with a large 4000 mAh battery. This is just comparable to a standard charging speed. For this matter, it’s still faster than most wireless charging pads with a 5W rating.

What’s in the box?

The pad comes with a micro USB port and a standard cable in the box. There is no power adapter but you can use your phone’s charger as long as it is producing 1.5A minimum.

Pricing and availability

The Choetech wireless pad is available in black with the silver accent or blue and red. Regular price for the Choetech is $20 USD but most of the times they are running promos which put the pad up to 20% off.

For the pricing alone, it’s the best option for its class as most charging pads are priced $30 and up especially from the major brands. But performance-wise, the Choetech 10W Qi Wireless Charging Pad is faster and more affordable.
